What Are Virtual Hiring Events?

Quick summary

Virtual hiring events are online recruiting events where employers interview many job seekers in a short period. They're like an online version of a job fair or open house. Each conversation happens through video, phone, or chat rather than in person.

Important: If your interview is on Indeed and you have audio or video issues, check our troubleshooting guide for Indeed Interview.

Benefits

Virtual hiring events may allow you to:

  • Talk with recruiters or hiring managers about the role
  • Join interviews from your location by video, phone, or chat
  • Complete interviews soon after registering, depending on availability

Outcomes such as same-day offers or signing bonuses depend on the employer and are not guaranteed.

Actions

Searching for hiring events

You can find hiring events the same way you find other jobs on Indeed:

  1. Create an account or sign in.
  2. Search for jobs that match what you're looking for.
Tip: Here are some ways to improve your job search.

Registering for a hiring event

  1. Click or tap the job or event that interests you.
  2. Select the option to register or schedule an interview (wording may vary).
  3. Answer a short questionnaire or screening questions, if prompted.
  4. Choose an available interview time if scheduling is offered.
  5. Review and submit your information.
  6. Check your email for a confirmation with the event or interview details.

FAQs

Question: Can I check if I'm signed up for a virtual hiring event?

Answer: Maybe. If the event is on Indeed, you'll find it in the Interviews tab in your account. You should also receive a confirmation email. If you registered on the employer's website, you won't be able to track the event on Indeed.

Question: Can I share my resume with the employer during a virtual interview?

Answer: Maybe. If the interview is on Indeed, you may be able to share documents, such as your resume, using the chat feature. If this option is not available, follow the employer's instructions to share your documents.
